V 2.0.0.0 RC 3 is the one that I use as well.

The reason I ask is that it throws up a lot of warnings on Virustotal..Although I haven't had any problems with it (that I know of).

Absolutely nothing has been changed, and all previous versions are working. Run as admin has never been enabled.

No path to the test installation as such, I just put Everything portable 1391 in a new folder in a new folder and ran it clean.

Just to reiterate, the settings are absolutely correct, Everything service is running correctly on my system , and it's only 1391 that is the problem.

No, everything is exactly as it has been before..I've always used the portable version.

As I mentioned, Everything has been fine up until the latest version.

I tried running Everything 1391 from scratch with no adjustments apart from Everything service and I still have the same ...

I have made absolutely no changes whatsoever. There is no problem starting from !390 and downwards.

In fact, I've now switched between 1390, 1384 and 1391 several times, and keep coming up with the same problem only on 1391.

T do have a couple of other instances running under the same service as ...

File attached..I did a text compare, no difference between the two files.

This Everything is an instance.

UAC prompt just appears when starting Everything each time.

Everything is running correctly, I have made no changes whatsoever before updating. I've upgraded many times but never come across this problem.

Using the same installation, up to 1390 works, 1391 is the only one with the service problem.


It's definitely 1391 that's causing me problems ...

Run as service is ticked, but I'm getting a UAC box pop up.

I've reverted back and the problem goes away.

The service on my computer appears to be running. I haven't made any changes from 1384.

Admin: 0
Service: 1 (connected / installed and running)

I've just tried installing the latest everything..

It appears that the Everything service isn't working..I reverted back to 1384 and the service is fine.

Would it be possible to have a search history, or even bookmarks in the index journal?

I refer to the index journal fairly frequently, and having to type in multiple exclusions every time.

I've solve it by adjusting dupe_line_colour. Is it possible to thicken the lines?

I'll ask David, but I wonder if it's feasible to add an option to put a blank le between blocks of dupes?

If I view in dark mode (which I don't like using), I can just about make out a faint grey line between the groups of duplicates.

Thanks NotNull, I disabled group colours and enabled dupe_lines but it doesn't appear tp work.

Also, I'm wondering if it's possible to have a blank line between groups of duplicates?

I have quite a few duplicates to sort through, and after a while ny eyes start spinning looking at the colours.

Is there a way of:

!. Inserting a blank line between the 'blocks' of duplicates?
2. Instead of colours, having each block in alternating dark and light grey?

Sorry, I should have explained...I want to be able to view and delete the actual files in the two directories.

I'm not sure how to just search for files in just two directories..I tried

Comparing two folders and deleting files therein

I want to compare the files in two separate folders, and then delete the duplicates.

I tried it via the file list and efu which works for finding the duplicates, but it doesn't allow me to delete.

Is there a way of doing this?

I automatically backup my index journal log every day as a txt file.

Is there a way of importing this back into Everything, so that I can read it from the index journal log within everything?

To a degree, yes. There are other options in the preferences menu. The omly flaw, as far as I can see, is with skip all, it appears to skip everything with the same file name without taking the size and date into consideration. I just use this when there are a large amount of files.

I use the Firefox portable app.

I move the UBO sqlite file from its location at profile\data\storage\default\moz-extension************ to the main profile folder, vacuum the profile folder with Speedyfox, then move the file back again to its original location.
I'm doing this with all my extensions ...

In short, yes, move to 1.5..There's the occasional bug, but nothing drastic, and if there is, it's very quickly rectified.
I personally can't see any reason to use 1.4.

Yes, it does work if I move the files from the relevant storage folder to the main profile folder, I then move the files back to the original storage folder.
The files I want to vacuum relate to various extensions, which place .sqlite files in various sub folders within the main storage folder.

It's showing in everything but definitely not finding it with a search. Although, if I do a search for test, everything finds it, but not if I search for test.

I quite like the fact that Everything can pick up on things like this.
