A couple of problems in windows 10.

So after I upgraded to windows 10 I have a couple of issues.

First everything is not starting on system startup. I tried even adding it in the startup folder but it does not. I can see it's in the startup processes and should theoretically start but doesn't.

The other problem is that no when I play mp3 files from the everything window it takes several seconds to open in winamp sometimes even up to 30 seconds. This does not ever happen when playing audio files from file explorer.

Are you running Everything as administrator?

Windows would be preventing Everything from running on startup because it requires administrative privileges.

Please try enabling the Everything service and disabling run as administrator:

• In "Everything" from the Tools menu, click Options.
• Click the General tab.
• Check Everything service.
• Uncheck run as administrator.
• Click OK.

Running as administrator might also be causing the slow winamp playing.

Alternatively, to run Everything as Administrator you can autostart it by changing the start type in the Registry to Machine Run (WOW64).

This is the case for most startup items in Windows 8 and Windows 10 so I use an Nirsoft tool called WhatinStartup and change the startup type (by double clicking the entry) to Machine Run (WOW64) -- no WOW64 needed in 32bit Windows of course.
