My display character set in everything suddenly switched to Chinese characters.
All other programs display normally.
Any suggestions?
(Is there something like a setup/config/ini file to determine the UI character set/font ?)

Anything here, http://www.voidtools.com/faq/#How_do_I_ ... guage_pack, as in when checking the settings mentioned, does it show other then the language you're expecting? And if so, if you revert it to your wanted language ...?

Good suggestion. But my problem solved itself in a way.
In fact, there was no problem. I had just, for the first time, sorted my complete file list (5 hard drives) descendig and it displayed some photos and odd files, which actually have chinese file names. Hahaha.
Typical case of the "problem" being between screen and chair.
