Keyboard - File | Preview

Post by therube »

No big deal, but...

Options | Keyboard - File | Preview, I think that entry is in error?
(Possibly some others too? Or maybe they were just placeholders at some point in time?)

They are there for a reason, they are used to open files with a specific verb.

verbs are different ways a file can be opened.
When you open a file in Everything the default verb is used. This is usually the "Open" verb but can be changed in the registry.

Here is a list of common verbs supported by Everything:
  • Open
  • Open New
  • Open With
  • Edit
  • Play
  • Print
  • Preview
  • Print To
  • Run As
  • Open with Default Verb
They might be useful if you change the default association of a file, for example, you might associate .jpg with a custom image viewer, opening the file from Everything will open the jpg in your custom image viewer, whereas opening the file with preview will use the Windows Image Viewer to show the preview.

You can also use custom verbs by changing the Everything.ini custom_verb values and assigning a keyboard shortcut to them.
