Including Windows 10 OneDrive in searches?

Post by terrypin »

I'm new to Win 10 after 15 years with XP and Everything was one of the first apps I installed. Without it I would be even more lost than I am in this alien UI!

But I'm trying to understand why a particular search isn't producing any hits. The files are in this folder that Win 10 calls 'OneDrive'. It's full path is C:\users\terry\OneDrive\Screenshots. It holds files PNG matching my search.

Is there anything 'special' about this folder that might be giving Everything difficulty please?

There is nothing special with the local OneDrive folder under Windows 10.
My Everything Version 1.4.0.719b (x64) displays the files from this three without problems.
Please note that with Windows 10 there are no Offline copies of files keeped by OneDrive.
The local tree only contains files which are fully downloaded.

"Please note that with Windows 10 there are no Offline copies of files keeped by OneDrive."

I'm still floundering a bit in Win 10, and OneDrive is a feature I don't fully understand yet. Although we're straying OT, could you explain further what you mean by the above please?

If I open OneDrive here I see subfolders for Documents, Music and Pictures. I've assumed these are stored not only somewhere in the Cloud but also physically on my PC at C:\Users\terry\OneDrive\. That's on my SSD, which won't be large enough, so I have to somehow move those large media folders (especially video) to my 4 TB internal HD, D:

OneDrive versions before Windows 10 had a local stub feature which provided just a link to the online file.
Only on usage of this link the full file was downloaded.
Thats no longer the case with Windows 10.
