Some files are not being found

Hi,

Some files are not being found by Everything Version 1.3.4.686 (x64).

The OS on this PC was recently upgraded from 64x Win7 Pro to Win10 (Anniversary Edition not yet installed).

I saw, in a previous post, that a similar problem was fixed by checkmarking Options > General > Everything Service and restarting, but even doing so, it was no joy for me.

The problem is not new -- I noticed it on a few occasions in the past but I didn't record the missing file or folder. In this instance, however, Everything is not finding "C:\Windows\explorer.exe". It doesn't matter whether I run as an ordinary user or as administrator. I have view options set to not hide protected system files.

Everything does find...
"C:\Windows\WinSxS\wow64_microsoft-windows-explorer_31bf3856ad364e35_10.0.10586.0_none_e88ee9bd587463eb\explorer.exe"
as well as several other instances of explorer.exe in subdirectories of "C:\Windows\WinSxS\".

I have no problem at all navigating to "C:\Windows\explorer.exe" using the built-in Windows Explorer.

Please explain what's going on and how to fix it.

These files are hard links (not physical files)
Everything 1.3 will only indexed one instance of a hard link.

If you wish to index all hard links, please try the Everything 1.4 beta:

I installed the Version 1.4.0.713b (x64), and "C:\Windows\explorer.exe" indeed is found. Problem solved.
