Duplicate search results when using an entry in the "Folders" option

I get duplicate search results if I list a drive and I also list a folder from that drive in the Options dialog. (I use Options > Indexes > Folders).

How can I avoid getting duplicates? Is there a check box somewhere for this or some technique I can use?

I am using the latest version: 1.3.4.686 (x86)

Perhaps... hmm, was going to say, Exclude, but that wouldn't differentiate between an indexed drive & an indexed folder & would simply block both.

NTFS volumes are automatically indexed under Tools -> Options -> NTFS.

If you add these volumes again under Tools -> Options -> Folders you will end up with duplicated results.
Please remove any NTFS volumes from Tools -> Options -> Folders.

NTFS volumes can be removed from the index under Tools -> Options -> NTFS -> Local NTFS volume -> Include in database.

Note: NTFS indexing is more efficient than folder indexing.

I was doing both volume and folder indexing because there is no way to explicitly force Everything to re-index just some of the data. Everything has to re-index all volumes or nothing.

So I chose the most quickly changing data and specified that folder in the Options in order to be able to force a re-index of that folder. However then i found I was getting the duplicate results.

Wouldn't it be possible to remove the duplicate results before presenting them to the user?

Currently, no.
It might be possible to add to Everything, although it would not very efficient.
