- In Windows Explorer, from the Tools menu, click Folder Options.
- Click the View tab.
- Uncheck Always show icons, never thumbnails.
- Click OK.

If you wish to keep thumbnails disabled in Windows Explorer and would like them enabled in Everything:
- Completely exit Everything (right click the Everything system tray and click exit).
- Open your %APPDATA%\Everything\Everything.ini
- Change the following line:
icons_only=0
to:
icons_only=1 - Save changes and restart.
