File Lists are recommended for DVDs.

To make a file list of your DVD:
  • In Everything, from the Tools menu, click File List Editor....
  • In the File List Editor, from the Edit menu, click Add Folder....
  • Select your DVD drive and click OK.
  • From the File menu, click Save As....
  • Type in a filename, use a filename that will describe the DVD contents and click Save.
  • Close the File List Editor.
To add the file list of your DVD to the Everything index:
  • In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
  • Click the File Lists tab on the left.
  • Click Add....
  • Select the file list you saved from above and click OK.
  • Click OK.
Repeat the above for each DVD, or if you have many DVDs, consider using folder indexing:

To add your DVD drive to Everything as a folder index:
  • In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
  • Click the Folders tab on the left.
  • Click Add....
  • Select your DVD drive and click OK.
  • Click OK.
You may need to manually update the folder indexes after changing DVDs.
To update the DVD folder index:
  • In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
  • Click the Folders tab on the left.
  • Select your DVD drive and click Rescan Now.
  • Click OK.
