Unable to open subfolder from search

Post by adam.soh »

Hi everyone,

I've a question on opening the subfolders through Everything. Please refer below for an example of my question.

File directory:
C drive > Main folder > Subfolder 1 > Subfolder 2 > Subfolder 3

Say I've performed a word search to find the folder entitled "Main folder". When I double clicked on "Main folder" to reveal its content, an error message popped up and I wasn't able to open the folder. Unfortunately I don't have a copy of the error message with me. May I know if someone has experienced something similar? Is there a specific setting I need to define so that the indexing will reveal the subfolders when I select for a folder that belongs to a file path that's prior to my file of interest?

Please advise.
Thanks.

Sounds like a permission "issue".
(As in simply a play you, a "regular" user, aren't supposed to have access to, or directory that simply has messed up permissions.
Like C:\System Volume Information\ is typically off-limits, & will cause an error message.)
