results:Chinese filename in wrong sorting

Post by joshatt »

Hi,
I just find that Everything(ver:1.2.1.371) can't sort files well with Chinese filename.
In a test search, most results are with Chinese filename, most of them are not very long names. With "name" sorted, I can see that, although files with the same first character are listed together, all files are sorted randomly------they should have been sorted with first character's pronounciation order.

Any idea?

See if "Everything" version 1.2.1.451a helps in any way, though it does say "Known issues: unicode ext: corrupts file and folder names - fixed for next release" (& next release meaning something later then 451a)?

Thanks. I just tried it. Doesn't fix my problem...but the keyword highlight function is cool !

"Everything" will only sort by the unicode value of the Chinese character.

Correct sorting is on my "Things to do" list.
