Hi,

I've got a wee filter:

ext:csv;doc;docm;docx;dot;dotm;dotx;epub;java;mobi;odt;pdf;php;ppt;pptm;pptx;rtf;xls;xlsb;xlsm;xlsx;xltm;xltx;jpg !"C:\Users\user\AppData"

Searched here viewtopic.php?f=2&t=6454&p=19852&hilit= ... cle#p19852

to see how to exclude the recycle bin.

Learned that I could add

!c:\$recycle.bin\

Tried using

Search > Organize Filters > Edit

and inputting

ext:csv;doc;docm;docx;dot;dotm;dotx;epub;java;mobi;odt;pdf;php;ppt;pptm;pptx;rtf;xls;xlsb;xlsm;xlsx;xltm;xltx;jpg !"C:\Users\user\AppData" !"C:\$recycle.bin\"

When I exit, the change to the filter seems to not be saved

When I return it is always only

ext:csv;doc;docm;docx;dot;dotm;dotx;epub;java;mobi;odt;pdf;php;ppt;pptm;pptx;rtf;xls;xlsb;xlsm;xlsx;xltm;xltx;jpg !"C:\Users\user\AppData"

without the added recycle bin piece.

What do you think is happening?

Are you clicking OK from the Organize Filters window?
-It might be hidden, please try sizing the window so it is a little larger.
-Clicking the close button with cancel your changes.


Please make sure Everything is installed correctly:

• In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
• Click the General tab on the left.
• Check Store settings and data in %APPDATA%\Everything (if this is unchecked, Everything might be unable to save your filters to disk)
• Uncheck Run as administrator.
• Check Everything Service. (Please make sure this is tick-checked and not square-checked)
• Click OK.
• Exit Everything (right click the Everything tray icon and click Exit).
• Restart Everything.
