Running Everything from command line

How do I run Everything from a command line? I've tried ES.exe but I get an error message.

I want to be able to use Everything in case I have of an emergency and I have to boot into DOS.

What error message is shown?


ES is the Everything command line interface.
ES requires Everything is running in the background.

If you see:
Error 8: Everything IPC window not found. Please make sure Everything is running.

This means Everything is not running or Everything is running in a named instance.
If you are using Everything 1.5a, please try the following call:

es.exe -instance 1.5a <your-search>



ES and Everything will not run in DOS.
