Update indexing properties in Database from EFU file

Post by sk2107 »

Hello,

I have these few external hard disks which I connected all and completed the indexing properties process and created an EFU file.
Now the thing is sometimes I have to disconnect them, so the indexing properties process takes a long time to be recreated when I connect them again, is there a way to use the EFU file to decrease the rebuild time?

your support is highly appreciated.

Please try removing your volumes as NTFS/Folder indexes and adding your EFU file to your index:
  • In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
  • Click the NTFS tab on the left.
  • Uncheck Automatically add new fixed volumes.
  • Uncheck Automatically add new removable volumes.
  • Uncheck Automatically remove offline volumes.
  • For each removable volume in the NTFS list:
    • Uncheck Include in database.
  • Click the Folders tab on the left.
  • For each removable volume in the folder list:
    • Click Remove.
  • Click the File Lists tab on the left.
  • Click Add....
  • Select your EFU file list of your removable volume and click Open.
  • Repeat for additional removable volume file lists.
  • Click OK.
