Alt-menu stealing focus randomly

Is there a way to disable this alt menu reval and disable the menu completely?

I have my "toggle window" hotkey set to Ctrl + Alt + F and whenever the window is in the background (not minimized) and I press the hotkey, the Everything window sometimes picks up this Alt press as if I wanted to focus menu bar which steals focus from search bar. It doesn't happen with Alt-Tab but it happens with global Ctrl + Alt + F hotkey.

The mildly annoying part is that it doesn't happen every time because I would simply press escape then every time. If it doesn't get focused, Esc closes the window, as expected so there is no way to use your muscle memory and press hotkey and write search query - I always have to check what was focused on this restored before I start writing.

It seems random with like 10% chance of menu being focused and 90% search bar being focused. I tried to release hotkeys in a different order but it doesn't seem to change anything. Happens both with menu hidden or always visible. It seems to happen more often when I unfocus the window with Alt-Tab before attempting to refocus it with the global hotkey.

I am having trouble producing the issue my end, could you please send some verbose debug output:

• In Everything 1.5, from the Tools menu, under the Debug submenu, click Start debug logging.
• From the Tools menu, under the Debug submenu, check Verbose.
• Press your hotkey until the issue occurs again.
• From the Tools menu, under the Debug submenu, click Stop debug logging.
  --This will open your Everything Debug Log.txt in Notepad--
• Could you please send this file to support@voidtools.com

There's currently no option to completely hide the menubar.
I'll working on a possible fix and looking into adding some options to completely disable the menubar.

I created a fresh installation in a Windows Sandbox to remove some factors in local config that may cause this but it's as easily reproducible for me.

In the recording I was alternating between Ctrl + Alt + F (toggle window hotkey) and Alt-Tab.

My apologies. I forgot to toggle verbose logging. Here are correct logs and recording. In the video I execute the Alt-Tab->Hotkey swap 5 times and then defocus with regular click outside Everything Window -> Hotkey 5 times, for total of 10 re-focuses.

It doesn't happen during click to defocus but happens in attempts 2 and 5 of Alt-Tab defocus.

Thank you for the logs kgvt,

Everything 1.5.0.1322a should now prevent the menu bar from showing on ALT after Everything has lost focus.

Does the issue persist with this version?
