Viewing chinese characters and Everything service

Post by harryray2 »

A couple of questions..

I recently installed Irfanview and some files were created in the Irfanview directory (according to my virus checker) that seem to be, what I think are Chinese characters. I can't find these files.
Can Everything display these?

Normally when updating Everything, the service dialogue box appears almost immediately, now it's taking a few minutes to appear.

Yes, Everything can search and display Chinese characters.

To search for Chinese characters, please include the following in your search:

regex:\p{Han}

Is the Everything Service installed and running?
  • In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
  • Click the General tab on the left.
  • Is Everything Service tick-checked or square-checked?
Could you please send some debug logs:

  • Press ENTER in your Everything search box.
  • In Windows Explorer, navigate to your Everything64.exe location.
  • Hold down Shift and right click in this folder.
  • Click Open Powershell here
  • Type in the following command and press ENTER:
    .\Everything64.exe -debug-log
---wait until the service dialog is shown---
  • From the Tools menu, under the Debug submenu, click Stop Debug Logging.
---this will open your Everything Debug Log.txt file in Notepad---
  • Could you please send this file to support@voidtools.com
