I keep forgetting that Everything (v1.4.1.1022 x64, in this case) always sorts directories/folders "before" files, which means I end up confusing myself for a moment almost every time I use it.
Is there any way to prevent this? i.e. to have directories and files interspersed according to whatever sort is selected? I scoured the settings dialog and INI docs, as well as searching the forum, but was unable to find anything (which suggests to me that it probably isn't possible ).
Just for clarity, attached is a screenshot of the behavior I'm referring to. The sort is set to name, ascending, but "foo" is displaying above "bar" because the former is a directory.

Re: Prevent directories from sorting before files
Everything uses separate databases for files and folders.
A feature called "Mix files and folders" is in development.
If you would like to try this now, please check out the Everything 1.5 alpha.

Re: Prevent directories from sorting before files
Nice! I'm not sure why it didn't show up in my forum search, so thanks for pointing it out.
I guess I'm no longer on the fence about trying the alpha!
