Is this a bug or am I going crazy?

The way I like to use bookmarks is through macros.

All of a sudden for some reason. when I type the macro name followed by : the filter associated with the bookmark does not get turned on, neither do options in the bookmark such as

• Match Path

• Ignore Punctuation

• Ignore Whitespace

The only way I can get the bookmark to work correctly is by clicking the bookmark name via Menubar Bookmarks > Bookmark name

I am using the latest Everything-1.5.0.1332a.x64-Setup.exe

I tried deleting all my settings and reinstalled 1332a.x64 again, and made test bookmark and test filter:




Still when I do test: filters and options like Match Path are not on. they are not shown on the status bar and my searches do not match parent paths

Is anyone familiar with this issues?

Everything is currently not applying the bookmark filter correctly.

This issue will be fixed in the next alpha update.

I'll have an update soon.



Please make sure you don't have any duplicated filter/bookmark macros.
The first name-sorted matching macro found is used.



Bookmark macros will not change any UI settings.
However, search settings such as match path should still be applied.

Hey Void, I got around to trying version Everything 1.5.0.1333a. sadly the issue is still present in the latest version.

I tried it with my own settings, no filters get activated, neither do options like match path, that are directly set in the bookmark itself.
The only way a bookmark will correctly work is if activated from the bookmark menu, from the menubar.

I also performed a test with fresh settings, same results as above.

Everything will not set the active filter or UI search options from a bookmark macro.

This is by design.

The filter and any search options should still be applied to your search correctly.
Is the filter applied for you? are you seeing the correct results?



For example:

I have a bookmark that uses the Audio filter and has the macro set to "my-audio-bookmark"

If I search for:
my-audio-bookmark:

The audio filter is not activated.
However, the audio filter is still applied to your search.



Please consider creating a bookmark shortcut key to activate your bookmark.
