What is "Undo History"?
I think that it means “Undo actions stored in a History of actions”.
I figured Delete was a reckless action I might want to undo, searched for my MSWord “Backup of” files and recklessly deleted the half-dozen files over over 1MB.
Then I chose Edit, Undo History and received the screen shown above.
I expected to see a half-dozen deleted “Backup of” files, something like a Windows recycle bin.
I am, as usual, out of my depth again.
Thanks for any tips. I am trying to understand topics listed here, but it may be that I am not deep enough into Everything yet.
Cheers, Chris
Re: What is "Undo History"?
The Undo History is a history of all actions performed in Everything.
For example:
Renaming a file.
Deleting a file.
Moving a file/folder by drag-dropping / pasting.
Most actions can be undone.
Drag-dropping a file onto Windows Explorer cannot be undone from Everything.
Windows Explorer handles this action.
This action can be undone from with Windows Explorer. (Edit -> Undo)
Permanently deleting an item cannot be undone.
When you perform an action, an undo operation is added to your undo history.
You can undo the last action from the Edit menu, by clicking on Undo.
If an action is undone, you can redo the action from the Edit menu, by clicking on Redo.
To undo any previous action in Everything:
To undo actions that were not performed in Everything, please see the Index Journal.
There must be a bug with deleted items currently not showing up.
I'm looking into the issue.
Thank you for the issue report.

Re: What is "Undo History"?
Void, thanks for the overview. Duly noted (and copy/pasted into a MSWord document }
You might hold off on bug investigation until I have done a bit more work with Undo History, (I am still battling Win11 and a new laptop),
but I suspect there might be terminology issues surrounding "Undo System" and "Undo History".
Cheers, Chris
