Everything-1.4.1.1024.x64-Setup for W11 on SLS.
Tried running as admin and not as admin.
Settings and location
>%appdata%
NTFS
>'Install everything service'
After going through the installation process and the green bar reaches the end
Everything setup: "Failed to execute user command"
As a result, everything will never start up with the computer when this happens.
I think I've tried to install as admin, both by right clicking the installer and doing admin runas, as well as ntfs 'run as admin'.
I could try the archive instead if you think that's a better idea.

Re: Everything doesn't install right on my Surface Laptop Studio
Everything is unable to install your "user" settings.Everything setup: "Failed to execute user command"
The Everything installer will do this by calling:
C:\Program Files\Everything\Everything.exe -install-user-settings...
This call is failing for some reason.
A third party program might be preventing Everything from calling itself.
UAC might be preventing the call if Everything was set to run as administrator at some stage.
Please make sure the installer is launched as a standard user (not as admin)
Please try the following:
Uninstalling Everything.
Restarting your PC to ensure the Everything Service is removed
Reinstalling Everything as a standard user.
-or-
Uninstall Everything
Install Everything with the MSI installer
After installing, please make sure Everything is installed correctly:
- In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
- Click the General tab on the left.
- Check Store settings and data in %APPDATA%\Everything.
- Uncheck Run as administrator.
- Check Everything Service. (Please make sure this is tick-checked and not square-checked)
- Click OK.
- Exit Everything (right click the Everything tray icon and click Exit).
- Restart Everything.

Re: Everything doesn't install right on my Surface Laptop Studio
Thanks Void!
So I went and uninstalled Everything. Restarted computer. Installed .msi.
I restarted my computer.
Everything doesn't want to start up with the computer.
The boxes are ticked as you suggested I tick them.
Frankly, I'm just going to throw a shortcut into the startup folder.
Ok actually. There was already a shortcut to Everything that I never removed AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
Everything still doesn't start up with the computer.
In tskmngr, there's two instances of everything listed under the startup tab. Any ideas what's wrong?
nothing else seems like it's going wrong.

Re: Everything doesn't install right on my Surface Laptop Studio
Thanks void.
I untoggled start on startup and left my startup folder shortcut in there.
I unticked run as admin on my shortcut
Everything started up this time!
I'm just going to invert it and delete my physical shortcut.
Thanks!
