wait for USN Journal Deletion...

Post by Tom.Zhang »

Hi,

I am using 1.4 and 1.5 alpha versions both. suddenly I found recent changes were not reflected in Everything and enable USN Journal was not clicked. once I tried to enable it, an error message popup said error about USN journal couldn't write with code 1172.

when I enable console and load Everything again, I can see it stucks at one line :wait for USN Journal Deletion...

Please could you help on this?

Please try restarting your PC.

This will give the NTFS driver time to dismount your volume and flush the pending journal deletion.

Does the issue persists after a restart?

I need to request a reboot, Everything is running in a server which has 500 - 1k clients.
will update once I get approval.

You'll have to wait for the NTFS drive to delete the journal.
There's no progress indicator.

Did you request the journal deletion?
What is the current journal size (shown under Tools -> Options -> NTFS -> volume -> Maximum size)

Please try disabling Tools -> Options -> NTFS -> volume -> Monitor changes to avoid reading the USN Journal.
(to just create an index as of now)
