how to connect to home lan server

Post by oldan »

Hello, I need advice on how to set up a connection to my synology server DS932+ via a home LAN network RJ-47.
When I am connected to the server in windows-explorer and use the icon in the context menu, no search starts.
The windows explorer is conected and i can read in address fields \\SynologyDS923p\
I've tried different settings according to the instructions, but nothing succeed.
Is possible to search using the web interface of the local network? Everytime i can see error 11001.
FTP Plugin package for synology have not installed now. It necessary need?
sorry, but I really don't understand networks, I tried to set it up according to the instructions, but I'm not successful

Please try adding each network share to your Everything index:
  • In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
  • Click the Folders tab on the left.
  • Click Add....
  • Select your \\SynologyDS923p\share1 and click OK.
  • Click Add....
  • Select your \\SynologyDS923p\share2 and click OK.
  • Click Add....
  • Select your \\SynologyDS923p\share3 and click OK.
    (repeat for additional shares)
  • Click OK.
Everything will start scanning your NAS.
This may take several minutes.

To search for files on your NAS, include the following in your search:

\\SynologyDS923p\
