Cannot see image of file anymore

I have Version 1.4.1.1024 (x64). Up until this evening, when Everything Search finds my file, I've been able to click in the far left column on the file name and open and see an image. Now, all of a sudden it gives me a message which I've attached a screenshot of that message.

I can still open the file if clicking on Open Path, but not directly on the image like I used to. What happened?

Please make sure Everything is installed correctly and running as a standard user:

• In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
• Click the General tab on the left.
• Check Store settings and data in %APPDATA%\Everything.
• Uncheck Run as administrator.
• Check Everything Service. (Please make sure this is tick-checked and not square-checked)
• Click OK.
• Exit Everything (right click the Everything tray icon and click Exit).
• Restart Everything.

Does the issue persist?

OK -- everything is already set as you indicate; but in addition, I have C: . . . . . and the external for it to search. I added the C drive when this stopped working for me. Before I only had the external in there. It also has these things checked -- START MENU SHORTCUTS; DESKTO SHORTCUT; and EFU FILE ASSOCIATION checked -- is that correct. I did not put those in - they default to that.

Also, please note that in my attachment, it now shows 2 of the same file in the same location. There is only 1. Why is is showing 2 now instead of 1 like it used to?

I did a restart of pc as well as close Everything search and brought it up again.

Yes it still persists.

Guess what -- after my restart of PC, I can now see the image again -- however, it still shows 2 files -- (they look like dupes as they have exactly the same thing (see the attachment) so why is that?

Please try forcing a rebuild:

• In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
• Click the Indexes tab on the left.
• Click Force Rebuild.
• Click OK.

Do the duplicated files persist?

Have you added any folders under Tools -> Options -> Folders?

I don't think I have to do that. I went in and removed the C: drive (mainly because it was not in there before and worked correctly).

Since removing that, I now get it correctly -- 1 file with the info.

I will keep your Rebuild instructions handy though in the event I might need it in future.
