what does 'auto_column_widths' do?

Post by Ralf_Reddings »

The settings is available under "advanced" page on settings window. But its not listed on INI Settings. It also does not seem to do what I thought it would do, which is to auto resize the columns to fit their values

It's an old Everything 1.4 setting:

auto_column_widths

Auto adjust column widths when resizing the search window.

Alternatively, leave disabled and hold down Ctrl when resizing a window.

Not if ctrl snap window to the top monitor edge to maximize.
But if use ctrl in Autohotkey to resize window.
And thank god it doesn't work with CTRL+N
It does work with other kind of snaps so I guess the maximize is not count to resize.

EDIT: Is there a lock function to ignore ctrl or limit to mouse and system native(like snap)? Or simply to turn it off on demand.

Aside from the fact that it nearly got me PTSD, generally speaking it is a good idea to ctrl auto resize.
