How to prioritize results by file format

Post by x4IPx »

How to set priority display of results by file format.

For example, I want .exe .lnk files to be shown at the top of the list.

Everything doesn't have a sort to do this yet.
I will consider adding a sort to do this.
Thank you for the suggestion.

Consider setting a run count for exe files and sorting by run count:
  • In Everything, right click vivaldi.exe and click Set Run Count....
  • Set a high run count, eg: 1000
  • From the View menu, under the Sort by submenu, click Run Count.
vivaldi.exe will now be shown at the top.
  • Consider doing this for all exe files (only problem is this will not work for new exe files)

Thanks. This is an acceptable solution

Ideally, the ability to prioritize extensions would provide a very convenient way to launch programs with just the keyboard.

For example (WOX + Everything ):
ALT + space -> First 3 letters of the program -> Enter

Thanks again for the answer )
