freezing up when previewing excel files

anyone else experiencing Everything freezing for approx 70 seconds when highlighting an excel file in the results window, and the preview window is already open? After 70 seconds, the preview appears, and then a session of Excel opens to a blank window. The highlighting step can be either 1 normal click on the excel file, or using the down arrow to bring the cursor bar down to the excel file. The freeze happens either way.
Only excel previews do this. Word, PDF files, etc, preview almost instantly. thanks.

Please ensure Everything is running as a standard user:

• In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
• Click the General tab on the left.
• Check Store settings and data in %APPDATA%\Everything.
• Uncheck Run as administrator.
• Check Everything Service. (Please make sure this is tick-checked and not square-checked)
• Click OK.
• Exit Everything (right click the Everything tray icon and click Exit).
• Restart Everything.

If you make any changes above, please restart your PC to ensure no preview host is still running as an administrator.


I have rewritten the preview pane for Everything 1.5.
Previews should load faster and not cause the UI to freeze.
