Everything not responding after startup

Everything not responding after startup

I installed Everything 1.4.1.1015 on a 64-bit Win8.1 box. Upon startup, I do see in the bottom left of the window 476,705 objects. A few seconds later, an hourglass appears. And then I am notified that Everything is not responding and I have to kill it with Task Manager. Is there any way I can get the application to work?

Please try forcing Everything to build a fresh index:
  • Kill Everything with the Task Manager.
  • In Windows Explorer, navigate to:
    %LOCALAPPDATA%\Everything
  • Delete your Everything.db
  • Restart Everything.
Does the issue persist?
