Currently you can set tooltips (show_detailed_listview_tooltips) to Icon, Icon and Text, Name (and Anywhere and None).
* An issue for thumbnails is that anywhere on the thumbnail activates the popup and obliterates the thumbnail, even when the option is set to Icon or to Name.
* As a solution especially pending the dedicated details pane, can I suggest that when set to Name, in thumbnail view it should be just the name that activates it, not the thumb as well, then one would have a bit of control over when it pops up, and I think that would be what people would expect by choosing 'Name' activation.

I will consider a separate detailed tooltip setting for thumbnail view.
