Folders sidebar : "Subfolders" option line

Currently in the Folders sidebar the Subfolders tickbox at the bottom takes up a whole line by itself, which becomes important for small laptop screens and also for a sense of placing things well aesthetically.
Can I suggest -
* The ability to hide this bottom bar of the pane (currently right-click of the title provides the setting as an option)
* The ability to make a keyboard shortcut to toggle the setting (couldn't spot one)
* Adding a toggle symbol in line with the "Folders" title (beside the X?) that toggles the subfolder searching setting.
Hopefully all easy things if thought to be good.

I will consider an ini option to hide this control.

Can I ask? do you usually have subfolders checked or unchecked?
Would showing only when checked (or unchecked) be useful?

Without the control, there's currently no way to visually know if this option is enabled or disabled.

I will add a command that can be bound with a keyboard shortcut to do this.

-It can be done now with a bookmark:

• In Everything, from the Bookmarks menu, click Add to bookmarks.
• Change the Name to: Toggle Subfolders
• Change the Search to: /treeview_subfolders=!treeview_subfolders
• Change the Keyboard shortcut to your new keyboard shortcut.
• Click OK.

* Adding a toggle symbol in line with the "Folders" title (beside the X?) that toggles the subfolder searching setting.

I like this idea.

I will consider adding the subfolders checkbox to the titlebar.

Everything 1.5.0.1359a adds a command to toggle subfolders.

To set a keyboard shortcut to toggle subfolders:

• In Everything 1.5, from the Tools menu, click Options.
• Click the Advanced tab on the left.
• To the right of Show settings containing, search for:
  subfolders
• Select Folders | Toggle Subfolders.
• Click Add....
• Press a new keyboard shortcut and click OK.
• Click OK.

Thanks so much for that!
And I see you asked something - I change the subfolders on and off quite a lot. I will a lot of time have a folder with general information in, and subfolders within with different specifics. So I'll toggle off to see the general information only and toggle on to catch the subfolders in addition. Anything that makes this toggling process easier is very helpful, such as the keyboard shortcut you mention.
For knowing if it's on or off I was imagining that a toggle symbol on the top line (beside the X) would at the same time indicate its state.

One extra thought!
* If the Folders pane isn't showing the command could simply show the Folders pane rather than toggle the setting.
The reason for this is that you could then use it to open the sidebar and if the subfolders setting wasn't right your fingers would be in the right place to hit again to toggle.

The next alpha update will show the folders sidebar if it is not already shown when running the Folders | Toggle Subfolders command.
