Take a look at this screenshot showcasing Everything and the operating system details od two bordering files at the split between the KB and MB mark
All volumes seen on that list have their own separate drive and are set to being: GPT - Simple - NTFS - allocation unit size 64 KB; with the exception of volume C [which shares space with other volumes not seen on that list and which automatically had its AUS set to 4 KB due to containing the operating system]
Can this be changed/fixed? Is Everything able to show 999.999 KB and then 1.000 MB for a slightly bigger item, when its view of items is being sorted out by the Size column?

Please try the Metric size standard:
IEC: 1KiB = 1024 bytes
Metric: 1kB = 1000 bytes
Looks like you have set the size_auto_format to 3 decimal places.
Please consider changing this to 3 digits (more than 3 digits is usually unnecessary information):
If you need the detailed size information, please consider showing sizes as bytes:
Selecting an item and hovering over the size in the status bar will show the total size in bytes.
- In Everything 1.5, from the Tools menu, click Options.
- Click the View tab on the left.
- Set Size standard to: Metric.
- Click OK.

Switching to using
Tools > Options > View > Size standard > Metric
fixes this, i.e. I now see a smooth transition
Thank you for all the info
