What's the deeeal with Run History??

Post by mondesi »

Hello,

Everything is the best thing since sliced-bread. I always enjoy finding better ways to use it.

One thing I have never really taken advantage of is "Run History" -- beacuse I don't understand how I'd use it with any regularity.
I assume it's not for one-off searches or anything specific.
Rather, the only case I can really think of, is using Everything as a your main 'interface' to opening recently used documents and files, based on path, folder, etc.

Would anyone like to share a real-world use case?

Thanks!

Pressing ENTER from the search box will select the most run result.

This can be useful to make Everything a launcher.

For example:
Search for:
c:\windows\notepad.exe
Right click notepad.exe and click Set Run Count.
Set the run count to: 1000
Click OK.
Now you can search for not and press ENTER ENTER to launch notepad.

"launcher"... that's a word I could have used earlier :)

Exactly what I was thinking a common use could be.

Thanks
