Date Accessed

Post by nagan »

I make a descending sort of DA , and click on a jpeg file , I would have expected the file to move up the order in the ET list ,if accessed also means opening of the file..logically but it stays put. Ofcourse the DA, DC, DM of a file in ET matches those with the properties of the file. So is the functionality kept reduced in Windows default or DA will not mean opening of file?

Everything doesn't monitor date accessed changes for performance reasons.

I will consider the option to enable this in the ini.

Hit F5 to refresh this information.
Opening a file does not always update the date accessed.

On Windows XP and later the date accessed has a time resolution of 1 hour.

ET is reflecting the properties of the files -fine. I was wondering if it was a Windows issue , or date accessed would only mean an access of file thru an app, because just opening a jpeg file defies the word.

Windows doesn't always update the date accessed instantly, sometimes it can take up to an hour.
