Hi,
Everything is a great program.
I just noticed by examining my errorlog.txt file, that every day, for each drive letter, I have the following message (for each drive)
7/25/2009 8:57:16 PM: Everything 1.2.1.371: .\src\db.cpp(18912): db::watch_for_next_update(): DeviceIoControl(): 6: Failed to ready notify for drive H:.
Since in the Options tab I do not have the box checked to check for updates on startup, I'm at a loss why I'm receiving these messages.
Any ideas? Nella
Error message in the Everything's log, every day
Re: Error message in the Everything's log, every day
I am aware of the issue and it has been fixed for the next release of "Everything".
It is caused by old update events firing when a monitor is not ready.
The problem causes the monitors to stop.
Restart "Everything" to restart the monitors.
You can optionally disable the monitors or try increasing the USN Journal maximum size to at least 32,768 KB for each NTFS volume.
There should be a beta available soon for testing...
