can't do an Everything search because Everything is busy scanning that backup drive...

To clarify: "Everything" runs automatically. My problem is that I just plugged in my 5TB backup drive and now can't do an Everything search because Everything is busy scanning that backup drive... I want to find a way that it does not do this. My next action will be to switch this one out for a second 5TB backup drive. All this to make current image backups. This is my first time trying to do a search while one of them is plugged in.

In Windows, the "Allow indexing" is UNCHECKED.

But Everything does not respect that setting.

What can I do?

If you don't want Everything to index this volume at all:

• In Everything 1.4.1, from the Tools menu, click Options.
• Click the NTFS tab.
• Uncheck Automatically include new fixed volumes.
• Uncheck Automatically include removable fixed volumes.
• Click OK.

• In Everything 1.4.1, from the Tools menu, click Options.
• Click the NTFS tab.
• Uncheck Automatically remove offline volumes.
