There does not appear to be any way to save a search? If I put in a complicate search string it would be great if I could recall it.
Maybe this should be a feature request: To have a drop-down history for the search strings?

Search history has been implemented for next release of "Everything".
You might like to try this now with the latest alpha release.
With the alpha release you can also save your searches as a custom filter.
