help me

Post by mauro696 »

Hi guys, nice to meet your community.
Im trying to solve a apparently easy job...but i cant find a solution!
into my folder i have some files like this for example:
1234AA-10AA.jpg
1234AA-11AA.jpg
1234AA-12AA.jpg
1234AA-13AA.jpg
1234AAA-13BB.jpg
1234AAA-14BB.jpg

How can i filter the result to have just a 1234AA-11AA.jpg and 1234AA-12AA.jpg files ?
i tried with ???????<11 | 12> ??.??? but doesnt work :-(
Whats wrong?!?!

Thanks all

Everything "translates" your query to matching 3 criteria:
- all filenames with 6 characters in them
AND
- all filenames with 11 0r 12 in them
AND
- all filenames with 2character, followed by a ".", followed by 3 characters in them

That probably won't give you the results you're looking for.

Your best option is using regular expressions. That's sp3cialized in pattern matching.

If you give us the real filenames (I assume the ones you gave are simplified examples), we can build you a query to get what you want.

Thanks for your suggestion NotNull.
This is my real case:

Cam1-20190128144406.jpg
Cam1-20190128164406.jpg
Cam1-20190128174406.jpg
Cam1-20190128214406.jpg
Cam1-20190128234406.jpg
Cam1-20190129034406.jpg
Cam1-20190129054406.jpg
Cam1-20190129074406.jpg
Cam1-20190129094406.jpg

A IP cam save into FTP folder some snapshot due to alarm trigger H24/365.
As you can see filename format is: Camera-year,month,day,hour,min,sec.
i have to select only daytime file ( from 08:00 to 19:00) and copy them into some backup folder.
What do you think NotNull?
Thanks!

It may need some tweaking...

Code: Select all

regex:"^\S{4}\-\S{8}(0[7-9]|1[0-9]).*\.jpg"
regex Cam 2.jpg
regex Cam 2.jpg (81.93 KiB) Viewed 2660 times
0700 Hrs to 1900 Hrs

[N.B] I'm not verygood with regex !!!
