I recently upgraded Everything from 1.4.1.970 to 1.4.1.984 and 3 reboots later it consistently goes non-responsive upon opening it, even after it has completed indexing and I have entered a search and it displays my search results. It will just suddenly hang soon after and go all hour-glassy until I terminate it. This is a new behavior that I have never experienced before in previous versions.
What sort of logs would be useful and how do I obtain them?
Frequent hanging after upgrading to 984
Re: Frequent hanging after upgrading to 984
(In the meantime...)
Maybe set up a new, "clean" instance, leaving all settings at defaults, & see if that instance shows the same symptoms.
What OS (& if 10, which version)?
32 or 64-bit Everything?
If the symptoms persist, I might look into a context menu handler or even antivirus related issue.
If you drop back to 970, does the issue persist?

While Everything is frozen, could you please create and send a mini crash dump.
You could also try launching Everything in debug mode to see what Everything is doing while it is frozen:
