Hi Team,
version:
1.5.0.1391a.x64
scenario:
as the subject, recently after each reboot, i need to click the "Force Rebuild" to get the the NTFS removable volumes contents.
as the screenshot showed, i checked the "Automatically include new fixed volumes" & "Automatically include new removable volumes" BEFORE this scenario(previously there was NO this scenario).
question:
why it not working as the option checked as previously?
expectation:
working as the checked option expected as previously.
need to click "Force Rebuild" to get the removable volumes when each reboot

Re: need to click "Froce Rebuild" to get the removable volumes when each reboot
Is Monitor enabled for said volumes?
Are D: & E: the removable drives?
Do you alternate physical removable drives that are using (borrowing) the same drive letter?
As in, is one time your Samsung E:, & the next time your Kingston is E:?

Not sure how to check/enable Monitor for said volumes;therube wrote: Wed Mar 05, 2025 4:50 pm Is Monitor enabled for said volumes?

both of them are Western Digital DISK device, so, yes, they're removable drives;
NO, no change for the drive letter;
all in all, as mentioned in the original post, previously it's working as expected(without concerning the mentioned 3 questions), but not now, so not sure what's wrong here to fix it.

In the screenshot you've posted, only down lower is 'Monitor' & we can't see that partNot sure how to check/enable Monitor for said volumes

Re: need to click "Force Rebuild" to get the removable volumes when each reboot
The contents of D: E do not show at all, or the contents is there, only not for new changes?i need to click the "Force Rebuild" to get the the NTFS removable volumes contents
Re: need to click "Force Rebuild" to get the removable volumes when each reboot

FYI:
The list of Local NTFS volumes in the screenshot shows drives C:, D: and E:
Drive C is currently selected and below the list are the settings for that drive C:
Select another drive to show the settings for that specific drive.
But checking is not really needed as these settings are correct. Otherwise a Force Rebuild would not include the files and folders of these drives.
Are these drives encrypted? If Everything starts scanning before the drives are decrypted, Everything can't read them.
I assume the D: and E: drive are connected when Everything starts?
If not, there could be an issue with writing the database to disk when Everything exits.
To test:
- Search for
- Make a note of the location of the database
- do a force rebuild
- check if files from C: D: and E: are included in the results
- Menu => File => Exit
- In Explorer, go to the location of the database
- Check date/time. Should match the time you exited Everything.
- Temporary disconnect drive D: and E:
- Start Everything
Are results shown from D: and E:?
- Connect drive D: and E:
Are results shown from D: and E:?
Do you have a cleaner/optimizing program running in the background or at startup that could mess with your Everything? (CCCleaner and the like)
