External image viewer always returns with focus in search bar

I don't want to use Everything's built-in image preview.

If I have some jpegs in the result list and press <enter> then my default image viewer is launched and I see the jpeg.

However when I close down the external image viewer and return to Everything, the focus has moved from the results list (where it was when I last saw it) back to the search bar. This means I can't easily use the UP or DOWN cursor keys to focus on the next image.

Is there a way to return from the viewer to have the focus in Everything's results list?

Do you have

Tools>Options>General>UI>Focus Search on Activate

checked? If so, uncheck it, click apply and see if that helps.
