Results are not returned for: distinct: $recyle.bin !$i display-name:" - sometimes.

1307/1310

if you open a new window & enter:

distinct: $recyle.bin !$i display-name:"

no results are returned, when they should be...

not sure if they are the correct steps?
actually i had my UNIQ filter set (video: sort:name: distinct: )
with that set, open a new window,
(Home, by default, then opens it with UNIQ filter set)

enter:
distinct: $recyle.bin !$i display-name:"

ah, it's got to be more then just that
but something is not right
you might have to mess around until your get it to break, but it will

(as it is, of late [at least by 1304], with every new Everything version, i've started
off with 2 opening windows;
1st is set to: !/$recycle !t:/music.tst !/CORRUPT/ !/100,
2nd is set to: $recyle.bin !$i display-name:"
& that has always been fine. it's fine with 1310 too.
but somewhere along the line, in 1310, i did something (& repeated it in 1307),
such that entering that same term in a new window may or may not return results.
(original window still does.)

Thanks for the issue report therube,

Is $recyle.bin a typo?
Should this be: $recycle.bin ?

Your distinct: search is looking for items with a distinct date modified because no property is specified, so the property of the current sort is used.
-Is this the desired distinct property? -If not, please specify the property with distinct:name or distinct:display-name

I get expected results with:
distinct:display-name path:$recycle.bin !$i display-name:

Is $recyle.bin a typo?
Definitely a typo, though I'm not sure if it was only a typo in my post here, or if I actually typo'd in my search (in which case this is nothing more then me screwing up).

(Suppose that History may tell. So if I remember, I'll have a look...)

Both.
All.
It was me.

i had it correct
i did have a typo - when i was trying to figure it out when it went "bad"
& as i started messing with it to see what was what
it dawned on me...

it was because i had PATH turned off
(where most of the time, i keep it enabled).
