Display only one search hit per folder even when there are multiple hits?

Hello all,

Suppose I am searching in a folder structure with hundreds of subfolders for files with a certain search term in the file name.

Is there a way to display only one search result per subfolder (for example, the most recently changed file), even if there are several files matching the search term in every subfolder?

- type your search in the search bar
- right-click the Path header of the result list
- right-click Find Path Duplicates
- select Find Unique (Including First Duplicate)
- Done.

Reset your results to regular layout by double-clicking DISTINCT in the statusbar .

Or ...
add distinct:path to the search query:
