How to index a shared folder on private network?

I have two laptops, and my old laptop has nearly 1 TB of data on its HDD.

I have shared its data folder over a private network, and I have full control on that folder from my new laptop.

I would like to index this shared folder in my new laptop using Everything.

Everything will allow me to search contents even when the shared folder is inaccessible.
(For example, if my old laptop is turned off.)

I have already mapped this shared folder as drive A in my new laptop.

However, Everything is unable to detect this "drive" and index it.
What should I do?

To add your shared folder to your Everything index:

• In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
• Click the Folders tab on the left.
• Click Add....
• Select your mapped network drive (for example: P: ) or network share (for example: \\server\share ) and click OK.
• Click OK.

You will be unable to add your mapped network drives if Everything is running as administrator.

Please make sure Everything is installed correctly and running as a standard user:

• In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
• Click the General tab on the left.
• Check Store settings and data in %APPDATA%\Everything.
• Uncheck Run as administrator.
• Check Everything Service. (Please make sure this is tick-checked and not square-checked)
• Click OK.
• Exit Everything (right click the Everything tray icon and click Exit).
• Restart Everything.

You may need to manually type in the drive letter when adding the folder:
(Sometimes the Network folder doesn't expand immediately -Your mapped network drives should be listed under This PC )

• In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
• Click the Folders tab on the left.
• Click Add....
• Manually type in your NAS drive (for example: P: ) and click OK.
• Click OK.
